Responsibilities

• Draw blood specimens from patients of all age groups, including pediatric and geriatric populations, following established procedures and safety standards
• Prepare collected specimens for lab testing, ensuring proper labeling, handling, and documentation
• Explain procedures to patients to create a trustful environment and alleviate anxiety
• Maintain accurate records and documentation of specimen collection and related activities
• Perform specimen processing duties with confidence, adhering to both clinical and forensic collection protocols when necessary
• Ensure a safe and professional environment at all times, promoting a positive experience for patients and staff
• Respond promptly to staffing needs which may include weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime shifts
• Work independently with minimal supervision, demonstrating organizational commitment and process excellence

Required Skills

• Excellent phlebotomy skills with experience in pediatric and geriatric draw procedures
• Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment
• Strong customer service skills, especially in retail or service environments
• Keyboard and data entry proficiency to maintain accurate documentation
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Additional Skills & Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required; medical assistant or paramedic training preferred
• Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington
• Minimum of 6 months of phlebotomy experience required; over one year preferred
• Reliable transportation to and from the worksite within a 20-25 minute commute
• Flexibility to work pre-scheduled shifts, including weekends, holidays, and overtime
• Availability to work whenever scheduled, punctuality, and full shift attendance are essential
