Building Engineer, Data Centers

Salary: $110,000 - 150,000 per year Requirements:

• We need someone who can move around large, campus-style environments and access equipment across the site.
• You must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.
• You should be comfortable climbing stairs and moving across rooftops to reach equipment.
• You must be able to use ladders up to 30 ft and work at heights.
• You need to be able to climb a ladder with a 300-lb weight limit.
• You must be available to work varied schedules.
• You must be able to work on holidays.
• You need to be able to respond to site emergencies.
• You should have 2+ years of experience in a data center or critical facility.
• You need experience with building systems such as UPS units, emergency generators, and switchgears.
• You should have strong verbal and written communication skills.
• You need working knowledge of MS Office, Google Suite, and CMMS applications.
• Preferred: experience with Corrigo.
• Preferred: Universal EPA 608 certification.
• Preferred: training in NFPA 70E.

• We maintain, monitor, and perform preventive maintenance on building systems to support continuous 100% uptime.
• We oversee fire and life safety systems, HVAC, chillers, CRAC/CRAH units, plumbing, controls, and hot water systems.
• We manage electrical infrastructure, including emergency backup systems such as lighting, UPS, ATS, STS, PDU, generators, primary switchgear, power distribution, and transformers.
• We monitor and adjust refrigeration, chilled water, air conditioning equipment, boilers, ventilation, water heaters, pumps, valves, piping, filters, and other mechanical and electrical assets.
• We record readings and make necessary adjustments to keep equipment operating properly.
• We analyze system performance, identify malfunctions, and take corrective action as needed.
• We follow policy for the safe storage, use, and disposal of hazardous materials and keep our workplace clean and safe.
• We learn the data center site so we can manage incidents and events that may put critical systems at risk.
• We handle work orders, including CMMS, vendor management, and customer-facing tickets.
• We follow emergency escalation procedures.
• We carry out additional duties as needed.
