Select how often (in days) to receive an alert: Title: Board Certified Behavioral Analyst (BCBA), Inpatient Psychiatry Title: Board Certified Behavioral Analyst (BCBA), Inpatient Psychiatry Location: White Plains Org Unit: Center for Autism and Developing Brain Work Days: Weekly Hours:35.00 Exemption Status:Exempt Salary Range:$104,400.00-$114,600.00 *As required under NYC Human Rights Law Int 1208-2018 - Salary range for this role when Hired for NYC Offices Position Summary The Center for Autism and the Developing Brain (CADB) is seeking a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to join its multidisciplinary inpatient psychiatry consult team known as the Positive Behavior Support Program at the Westchester Behavioral Health Center, White Plains, New York. The BCBA will provide direct applied behavior analytic and behavioral consultation services in acute care settings including the Evaluations Center and psychiatry units serving individuals across the life span. This position will explore the impact of behavior analysis on improving care of patients with neurodevelopmental conditions in emergency rooms and inpatient psychiatric care. In this role, the analyst will provide direct clinical support to individuals with neurodevelopmental conditions, support staff training, and gather as needed quality outcome data to demonstrate the critical role BCBAs can play in hospital-based psychiatric treatment. You will be part of a forward-thinking, collaborative team within the Center for Autism and the Developing Brain, Department of Psychiatry at Weill Cornell Medicine, which is committed to improving emergency room and hospital-based care of individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders. Together, we are providing empathic evidence-based care, shaping best practices, training hospital staff, and building a model of integrated care that will influence psychiatric hospitals across New York State and beyond. This role is part of a collaboration with the University of Rochester Medical Center and the NY Office of Mental Health. Together, we will generate evidence for how behavior analysts improve outcomes for individuals with autism and developmental disabilities during hospitalization. Job Responsibilities Work within the multidisciplinary inpatient consult team comprised of neurodevelopmental disorder experts from the Center for Autism and Developing Brain. The BCBA will provide direct applied behavior analytic and behavioral consultation services to patients in the hospital, including those on the psychiatry units. Conduct functional behavioral assessments, functional analyses, and skill assessments in collaboration with hospital teams and families from the first point of contact in the hospital. Develop and implement individualized, function-based behavior intervention plans, safety/crisis prevention strategies, and skill-building programs for psychiatrically hospitalized patients with neurodevelopmental disorders. Provide training, coaching, and modeling for hospital staff to ensure consistent implementation of behavioral strategies. Engage in interdisciplinary and specialty peer supervisions to ensure high quality, evidence-based behavioral treatment for complex psychiatric patients. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals to ensure continuity of behavioral and psychiatric care. Document assessments, plans, and progress in accordance with hospital and departmental policies. Participate in multidisciplinary rounds, case conferences, and evaluation activities. Performs other duties as assigned. Education Master's Degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Education or related field required Experience At least 3 years of experience working with individuals with autism and/or developmental disabilities with behavioral and psychiatric needs in clinical, hospital, school, or community settings. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Strong skills in functional assessment and development of behavior intervention plans for individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders and severe behaviors. Ability to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams in fast-paced psychiatric hospital settings. Flexibility and creativity in working with individuals with complex and severe needs; commitment to patient- and family-centered care. Ability to adapt to pilot programs and contribute to innovative models of care and contribute to the research mission of the program. Licenses and Certifications NYS Licensed Behavior Analyst (LBA) or eligibility for licensure/limited permit required upon hire. Certification in Behavior Analysis (BCBA).
