As a Banquet Cook, you'll help create memorable dining experiences for weddings, conferences, celebrations, and special events at our resort. Working as part of our culinary team, you'll prepare and present high-quality banquet meals that consistently exceed guest expectations. You'll follow established recipes and banquet event orders (BEOs), maintain a clean and organized kitchen, and ensure every plate meets our standards for quality, presentation, and food safety.
Cook levels (I, II, and III) are based on culinary skills, experience, and demonstrated proficiency, with Cook I representing the highest skill level.
This role is a key position in our operational excellence delivery goals. The role may advance into a supervisor level position should the incumbent demonstrate sufficient strategic development and enlargement of performance scope. The successful person will be an advocate of our mission, values, and brand from an F&B level.
Key responsibilities include:
- Prepare banquet meals according to established recipes, BEOs, and quality standards.
- Ensure all food is cooked, plated, and served with consistency, accuracy, and attention to presentation.
- Execute banquet menus while accommodating special requests and dietary needs outlined in event orders.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked workstation throughout each shift.
- Properly clean, sanitize, and close your station at the end of service.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations to maintain a safe kitchen environment.
- Arrive prepared for each shift with the tools, ingredients, and mise en place needed for efficient service.
- Communicate and work collaboratively with chefs and fellow team members to ensure successful banquet execution.
- Maintain professional appearance and personal hygiene standards.
- Notify supervisors of equipment issues, maintenance concerns, or inventory shortages.
- Assist with additional kitchen duties and food preparation as needed to support the culinary team.
What we're looking for includes:
- Comfortable with daily routines and repetitive tasks.
- Strong time management skillsyou stay on schedule and meet deadlines.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds on occasion.
- Physically capable of standing and walking for extended periods, as well as reaching, bending, and using stairs.
- Basic reading and writing skillsable to understand safety labels and complete brief reports.
- Ability to meet performance and skill expectations based on your cook level (I, II, or III).
Education & experience:
- High school diploma or GED preferred, or at least one (1) year of equivalent kitchen experience.
- A valid driver's license may be required for certain roles involving company vehicles.
