FlexSteel embodies teamwork with a focus on hiring top talent and developing employees Role Overview RYThe Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for developing, improving, and maintaining manufacturing processes to ensure optimal efficiency, quality, and safety. This role works closely with production, quality, and design teams to support continuous improvement and operational excellence in the manufacturing environment Responsibilities Committed to Safety by performing all required tasks in accordance with established Company Policies, Procedures, and Safe Work Practice Design, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes for new and existing produt s Analyze production processes to identify bottlenecks, waste, and opportunities for improvement (using Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodology s) Develop and update process documentation, work instructions, and standard operating procedures (SOP s) Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for process-related issu es Collaborate with design and R&D teams to ensure manufacturability of new products (DFM/DF A) Support implementation of new equipment, tools, and automation syst e ms Develop and manage time studies, capacity analysis, and line balance ing Ensure processes comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and quality requirements ts Drive cost reduction initiatives without compromising product integrity or compli ance Train production staff in new processes and improvemen ts Other Duties as assign ed Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering or a related field. 2–5 years of experience in a manufacturing envir onment. Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and ERP systems. Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar continuous improvement t ools. Strong problem-solving and analytical sk ill s. Effective communication and cross-functional collaboration abili ties. Requires frequent hands‑on interaction with equipment and opera tors. Mix of office and shop f loor. May involve occasional travel to suppliers or other company s ites. Requires use of PPE and adherence to safety proto. Physical Demands the position generally operates in a professional office environment. The role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly requir ed to: Sit for extended periods at a desk and work on a co mputer. Use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or con trols. Reach with hands and arms. Talk and hear. Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Walk or stand periodically throughout the day. Maintain sustained concentration on computer s c reens. Work under deadlines with frequent interru ps. Work Environment the position generally operates in a professional office environment. The role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly requir ed to: Normally work in an office environment or from home as needed by the business; however, occasionally may work at a branch location or manufacturing fac ility. Occasionally may be exposed to hazards such as loud noise, heavy equipment, temperature extremes, chemicals, etc., while visiting a branch location or manufacturing fac ility. The noise level in the work environment is usually mod. Safety Requirements the position may occasionally be in an industrial/field environment. The role requires working in and around manufacturing equipment, heavy machinery, and potentially hazardous materials. While performing the duties of this job, the employee: Wear required Personal Protective Equipmen t (PPE). Follow all safety protocols and pro ceedures. Participate in regular safety t raining.
