Key responsibilities include analysis of systems and review of plant costing and accounting activities, providing recommendations and performing actions to ensure efficiency in both the manufacturing and the administration areas. The Senior Financial Analyst is a key member of the Accounting department and reports to the Plant Finance Leader.Essential functions:Support in month end financial closings, preparing journal entries, variance analysis and financial reportingAssist with the preparation of monthly forecasts, annual profit plan, strategic plan, operating reviews and reporting of financial data and analysisResearch, compile and analyze financial data; present summarized results and recommendations to management. Review and evaluate financial results for accuracy, consistency, and transparency. Maintain integrity of financial resultsHelp review balance sheet reconciliations to ensure no variances on the balance sheetPrepare special projects and operational reports for presentation to plant and/or division management as well as work to design, develop, and execute improved financial processesAssist in resolving accounting problems related to the plant and complying with corporate requirementsProvide guidance and education as needed to plant personnel on financial objectives and means of achievementMonitor, maintain, and report all plant cost out project resultsReview and analyze production jobs to understand variances, inventory movement, and perform closures once orders are completePartner with materials team to ensure inventory controls and complianceSupport inventory reviews with cross functional teams to minimize excess and obsolete and maintain healthy inventory levelsReview production scrap, sale of scrap, and operational performance to understand drivers and potential opportunitiesLead capital project accounting for plant including budgeting, recognition of expense, and tracking and closing projects as neededCreate complex, global, multi project CARS to obtain senior management approval for capital spend. All costs pertaining to purchases, services, internal resources, and external consultant work are evaluated based on prescribed accounting rules to determine the appropriate classificationHost meetings with local finance personnel and project managers to understand the extent of progress made and supporting the monthly accruals for capital and expensePerform monthly reconciliations and monitoring for Plex and Oracle transactions, including construction in progress accounts and any operational data, to minimize variances between Plex ERP and Oracle modulesQualifications:Required (Basic) QualificationsBachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business from an accredited institutionMinimum of three (3) years of experience in financial planning, analysis and/or performance reportingMust be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship both now and in the futurePreferred qualificationsStrong understanding of SOX/US GAAPExperience in a plant/manufacturing environmentContinued Process ImprovementMaster in excelKnowledge of financial analysis, ledger accounting, standard costs and business management processesStrong knowledge in the creation of project budgets, the accounting close and forecast processesBroad knowledge of key operational systems including sales inventory operations planning (SIOP), materials planning systems (MRP), enterprise resource planning (ERP) and quality systems with diverse experience managing varied and complex manufacturing processesIntermediate to expert level proficiency in Microsoft Excel and OfficeBilingual skills in SpanishPlex and Oracle ERP System experienceSkills:Position Success Criteria:Ability to analyze and interpret financial and operational dataStrong attention to detail, ability to maintain several multiple responsibilities simultaneously and a willingness to investigate all areas of the P&LAbility to understand, interpret and implement corporate policies and proceduresAbility to determine costs that qualify for capital versus expenseExcellent written and oral communication skills - ability to develop and maintain positive relationshipsEagerness to learn, ask questions and challenge assumptionsWe are committed to ensuring equal employment opportunities for all job applicants and employees.
