Registered Nurse (RN) Fellow Medical/Surgical Unit

Registered Nurse (RN) Fellow – Medical/Surgical Unit Falls Church, VA, United States Inova Fairfax Medical Campus seeks a Full Time RN Fellow for our Medical/Surgical Unit. The position is 12‑hour day shifts (7:00 am - 7:00 pm). Sign‑on bonus and relocation assistance available. RNs with experience in LTC, Rehabilitation, Home Health, or Outpatient settings are encouraged to apply. Registered Nurse Fellow Job Responsibilities Perform patient assessments, collect data, and follow written plans of care and practice guidelines under supervision of an experienced RN. Organize, prioritize, and deliver patient care using Inova’s Nursing Professional Practice Model and Care Delivery Model to achieve desired outcomes and adjust plans as needed. Provide compassionate, hands‑on care while maintaining patient privacy and confidentiality. State rationale for clinical decisions based on educational knowledge, principles, and evidence‑based practices. Work efficiently within the healthcare team to maximize productivity and achieve identified outcomes. Accurately document all patient care activities per documentation standards and seek assistance to improve documentation skills. Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and meetings as an active team member. Integrate nursing knowledge with new skills, seek guidance from the healthcare team, and apply feedback to improve care. Attend and complete all learning sessions, assignments, and simulations required for fellowship completion on time. May serve as a preceptor after appropriate orientation and competency completion. Perform other duties as assigned. Registered Nurse Fellow Requirements Education: BSN from an accredited nursing school; MCL if RN holds an ADN, must complete BSN within 5 years of start date. Experience: Minimum of 1 year of Registered Nurse clinical experience. Positions will consider RNs with LTC, Rehabilitation, Home Health, and Outpatient experience. Certification: Licensed or eligible for licensure in Virginia as a Registered Nurse or holding an active multi‑state RN license; BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
