Housekeeper (Evergreen)Physical Plant, Housekeeping Chief | PMPosition Type: RegularHourly Rate: $18.22 per hourJob Description:Frostburg State University (FSU) seeks applications for nonexempt full-time Housekeeper positions. Hourly rate of $18.22; includes the University of Maryland benefits package which includes annual leave, holidays, personal, and sick leave; tuition remission; excellent health and life insurance, and retirement plans. This position's hours may occur during any of the shifts at FSU. If the person selected for this role performs their work during the night shift, they will also receive an additional $1.00 shift differential for work completed during that shift bringing the hourly wage to $19.22.Responsibilities: Under direct supervision, maintain University building interiors and ensure clean, orderly, and attractive conditions in assigned areas according to set tasks and frequencies. Provide housekeeping services including but not limited to vacuuming; refuse collection; sanitizing and disinfecting restrooms; sweeping, mopping, and waxing floors; and cleaning windows, blinds, and furniture. Operate standard cleaning equipment such as vacuum cleaners, buffers, and scrubbers. May be required to move furniture and equipment. Other work-related duties as assigned.Minimum Qualifications: Successful completion of a pre-employment physical examination.Other: Except for qualifications established by law, additional related experience, and formal education in which one has gained the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for full performance of the work of the job class may be substituted for the education or experience requirement on a year-for-year basis with 30 college credits being equivalent to one year of experience.Preferred Qualifications: Previous housekeeping experience and basic computer knowledge.Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Ability to read, write, and perform arithmetic calculations; to operate assigned tools and housekeeping equipment; to work with chemicals and cleaning solutions; to understand and follow directions; to lift and transport supplies and refuse; to wear and work in personal protective equipment.Conditions of Employment: Candidates selected for employment may be subject to medical inquiries and/or medical examinations to determine ability to perform the job.About the University: A member institution of the University System of Maryland, Frostburg State University is a public, comprehensive, largely residential regional university offering programs in the sciences, education, business, the arts and humanities at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
