Credit Analyst

Overview Horizon Farm Credit is actively recruiting an experienced Credit Analyst for several branch locations. The role offers career development, training, a collaborative team environment, and a work/life balance. Hours are Monday to Friday 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with a hybrid schedule after 6 months. Position Description As a financial professional, you will deliver sound credit and financial services within regulations and policies. You will accurately and efficiently analyze and underwrite loans for prospective and existing borrowers, working closely with Relationship Managers to structure, condition, and approve credits. You will develop relationships with large or complex customers to improve credit analysis, promote related services, participate in credit decisions, and maintain a favorable Farm Credit image. Areas of Responsibility Analyze financial information: complete historical trends, pro-forma projections, debt repayment schedules, consolidations, stress testing, probability of default, loss given default, source and use tables, commodity worksheets, and other necessary schedules and tools. Prepare a loan narrative summarizing the financial analysis, addressing the five C’s of credit, highlighting strengths, and documenting weaknesses. Collaborate with Relationship Managers to finalize credit recommendations. Obtain necessary delegated authority for loan approvals. Study and apply internal credit practices, loan products, and compliance standards. Manage the loan underwriting pipeline and meet targeted turnaround time for loan decisions, maintaining communication with lending and operations. Assist in preparing larger loan packages and monitor larger accounts for compliance with covenants and conditions. Participate in continuous education on agricultural industry trends and news. Engage in association initiatives and cross-functional teams. Other projects and research as assigned. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Agriculture, Economics, or Finance. Minimum of three years of agricultural or commercial credit analysis/underwriting experience. Sound credit judgment and differential credit skills to complete accurate and timely credit packages. Effective verbal and written communication with a large, geographically diverse team. Strong analytical and computer skills. Adaptability and flexibility to a changing work environment.
