Assistant Store Manager – Retail Operations
Glen Burnie Retail Store
???? $19.10–$22.10/hour
???? Bilingual English/Spanish: earn $1.50/hr more
The Assistant Store Manager role at Goodwill Industries of the Chesapeake supports daily store execution in a highvolume retail setting and ensures continuity of leadership when the Store Manager is unavailable.
This position is ideal for a retail supervisor ready to expand operational and peoplemanagement responsibilities.
What You’ll Do
- Support the Store Manager in all aspects of store operations
- Supervise, train, schedule, and coach retail employees and volunteers
- Lead by example in delivering excellent customer and donor service
- Help achieve sales, production, and expense control goals
- Maintain a clean, safe, andwellorganizedstore environment
- Investigate and document accidents, injuries, and safety issues
- Oversee merchandising, inventory flow, and sales floor presentation
- Address customer concerns and promote Goodwill’s mission and values
- Assume store leadership responsibilities when the Store Manager is absent
Schedule & Availability
- Weekend availability (Saturday and Sunday) isrequired
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings and holidays
- Reliable transportationrequiredfor each scheduled shift
What We’re Looking For
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- At least1 year of supervisory experiencein retail or a related environment
- Strong people leadership, customer service, and merchandising skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision
- Selfstartermindset with flexibility to learn and grow
Additional Requirements
- Valid driver’s license, insurance,and access to a personal vehiclerequired
- Ability to perform allessential jobduties with or without reasonable accommodation
Physical Requirements
- Lift up to 50lbs(frequent lifting up to 25lbs)
- Stand, walk, bend, reach, and use hands throughout shift
- Medium physical demand work environment
