Responsibilities

• Deliver respiratory care per evaluate-and-treat protocols, including medication administration as ordered.
• Manage ventilator support and other critical-care respiratory therapies in high-acuity areas, with significant independent decision-making.
• Educate patients and their families, coordinate activities with care teams, and support discharge planning where applicable.
• Contribute to staff development and participate in onboarding or orientation for new employees.
• Address population-specific needs, including biological, emotional, psychosocial, and educational aspects of patient care.
• Maintain accurate documentation and participate in ongoing quality improvement and safety initiatives.

Requirements

• Experience in critical care or ICU settings with ventilator management and complex patient care.
• Ability to administer respiratory therapies and medications per orders and established protocols.
• Strong clinical judgment with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication skills for patient, family, and interdisciplinary team education.
• Availability to work the night shift and participate in travel assignments.
• Demonstrated ability to provide culturally sensitive, patient-centered care in an inpatient, high-acuity setting.
