Software Engineer, Tooling

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement secure CI/CD pipelines for automated build, test, and deployment of radar-tracking software across multiple enclaves.
  • Optimize build and test processes, reduce deployment friction, and integrate security controls into the software development lifecycle.
  • Identify tactical software development pain points and architect durable tooling and process solutions.
  • Build Infrastructure-as-Code frameworks to provision and configure development, test, and production environments meeting DISA STIG and NIST 800-53 requirements.
  • Automate STIG scanning, vulnerability assessment, configuration validation, compliance reporting, and continuous monitoring workflows.
  • Develop hardened containerization and orchestration solutions for classified networks.
  • Create monitoring and logging infrastructure for security operations, troubleshooting, and incident response.
  • Partner with system administrators and ISSM/ISSO personnel to meet customer security requirements.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience and a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools such as GitLab CI, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and C++.
  • Understanding of software engineering fundamentals including design patterns, testing, version control, and debugging.
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
  • Working knowledge of Docker and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes or Docker Swarm.
  • Understanding of Linux system administration, networking, and scripting with Python and Bash.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Top Secret SCI security clearance.
  • Experience with classified DoD or IC environments, ATO processes, STIG implementation, continuous monitoring, compliance scanning, secure software supply chains, artifact signing, SBOMs, GitOps, observability, PKI, secrets management, air-gapped deployments, or DoD security frameworks is preferred.
  • Relevant certifications such as Security+, CISSP, or AWS/Azure security certifications are preferred.
