Make a real impact supporting K-6th grade students as a Special Education Teacher in a rewarding, contract-based role. You'll have the opportunity to provide individualized education and guidance to a caseload of 20 students, fostering their academic and personal growth throughout the school year.
This role runs from August 12, 2026, through May 18, 2027, offering a structured schedule of 37.5 hours per week (Monday through Friday). Located near Oxford, AL, this position invites passionate educators to facilitate learning, collaborate with a supportive team, and help shape the future for students with unique needs.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Current and active Alabama K-6th certification required
- Prior experience working in Special Education preferred
- Strong ability to manage a caseload and deliver dynamic, differentiated instruction
- Proficient in developing and writing IEPs
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and support as outlined in each student’s Individualized Education Program
- Maintain documentation and manage a caseload of approximately 20 students
- Develop, write, and update IEPs regularly
- Participate in IEP meetings with families and multidisciplinary teams
- Monitor student progress and adapt instructional methods as needed
