Registered Nurse (RN) - PACU

RN – Pre-Operative & PACU

Schedule: Weekday Day Shift

Assignment Details:

• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Guaranteed Hours: Up to 40 hours per week, based on department operations

Requirements:

• Graduate of an accredited RN program
• Current state RN license in good standing
• Current AHA BLS certification
• ACLS and PALS certification as required by the department
• Previous travel nursing experience
• Previous EMR experience
• Relevant Pre-Operative, PACU, perioperative, Emergency Department, or Intensive Care Unit experience
• Experience caring for patients undergoing orthopedic, general surgery, gynecology, ophthalmology, ENT, and interventional pain-management procedures
• Ability to independently manage post-anesthesia patients and recognize changes in condition
• Strong IV, medication-administration, airway-management, pain-management, and patient-assessment skills

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and provide care for surgical patients throughout the pre-operative and post-operative phases.
• Assess and monitor patients, administer medications and IV therapies, manage airways and pain.
• Identify changes in patient condition and respond appropriately.
• Provide patient and family education and coordinate care with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and other surgical team members.
