Responsibilities Lead Social Worker The Lead Social Worker is responsible for guiding and directing the activities of the Social Workers under the direction of the SW Manager. In addition to the permanently assigned duties, which may include an assignment, the Lead SW provides training, consultation and quality assurance activities. This position requires an ability to engage in critical thinking and problem solving for complex cases, an understanding of regulations and policy impacting the service delivery of hospital services and an ability to train and educate staff. The Lead Social Worker will also be responsible for providing supervision for those Social Workers seeking to obtain their LICSW. Qualifications Current Licensure in Social Worker in the District of Columbia. LICSW required. Case Management Certification required. A minimum of five (5) years clinical experience in hospital Social Work and discharge planning and adult mental health in an Emergency Department and Inpatient setting. Skills Must demonstrate excellence in verbal and written communication skills. Must demonstrate leadership skills and organization skills. Able to seek guidance in view of own limitations. Participates in leadership and development courses.
