Information Systems Specialist 6 (Systems Administrator) Location: Salem, Oregon Salary Range: $6,182 - $9,361 per month Responsibilities Administer Microsoft Azure infrastructure, virtual servers, storage, networking, and security services. Manage Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune, and related cloud technologies. Oversee infrastructure services delivered through the Oregon Enterprise Information Services (EIS) managed service providers. Support network infrastructure including firewalls, switches, wireless systems, VPNs, and connectivity services. Provide advanced troubleshooting and end‑user support for enterprise systems and applications. Coordinate technical work with vendors, managed service providers, and statewide technology partners. Monitor system health, performance, backups, and resource utilization for reliability and security. Manage user identities, access, and endpoint solutions to meet security requirements. Evaluate, test, and deploy operating system, application, and security updates. Serve as the primary escalation point for complex infrastructure and system issues. Document systems, procedures, solutions, and knowledge articles for quality and consistency. Assist with planning, implementation, and support of new technologies, infrastructure improvements, and agency technology projects. Provide technical guidance, training, and support to IT staff and agency users. Participate in business continuity, disaster recovery, and operational resilience activities. Qualifications 5 years of experience administering computer networks, servers, and business systems, *or* 3 years of related experience with an associate degree, *or* a bachelor’s degree in a related field. Strong technical expertise in Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, Entra ID, and modern endpoint management. Experience supporting and administering enterprise infrastructure, including cloud‑hosted systems. Ability to diagnose root causes and implement sustainable solutions. Experience administering identity and access management solutions with security best practices. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non‑technical audiences. Proven ability to build productive relationships with users, vendors, managed service providers, and technology partners. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Commitment to exceptional customer service and creating positive user experiences. Demonstrated humility, accountability, collaboration, and professional maturity. Preferred Experience Microsoft Azure administration Microsoft 365, Entra ID, and Intune administration Hybrid cloud environments Enterprise backup and disaster recovery Infrastructure monitoring and performance management Identity and access management Vendor and managed service provider coordination Work with Oregon Enterprise Information Services (EIS) Supporting both Microsoft and Apple operating environments Benefits Competitive salary range: $6,182 - $9,361 per month.
