School Outreach & Museum Tour Coordinator | Holocaust Museum Orange County School Outreach & Tour Coordinator Holocaust Museum Orange County | Newport Beach, CA Part-time: 20 hours per week Help bring the lessons of Holocaust history and tolerance to students and our wider community. Holocaust Museum Orange County seeks a motivated, personable, and highly organized coordinator to expand our school and community outreach and manage group visits. This position plays an important role in connecting visitors with meaningful educational experiences that inspire empathy, challenge hate, and uphold human dignity. We are looking for someone who takes initiative, builds relationships, follows through consistently, and can turn outreach into confirmed visits. Key Responsibilities Proactively contact teachers, school administrators, and community organizations to introduce the museum’s educational offerings and arrange visits. Build lasting relationships with schools and groups, encouraging repeat visits and referrals. Follow up on inquiries and outreach through phone calls and email. Manage the tour calendar and coordinate scheduling with group leaders, docents, and survivor or guest speakers, as applicable. Communicate visit details, preparation materials, and logistical arrangements to everyone involved. Be on site for tours to welcome groups, support docents and speakers, and ensure visits run smoothly. Maintain accurate contact records, outreach logs, and booking information. Gather feedback after visits and provide regular updates on outreach activity and confirmed bookings. Qualifications Experience in school and or museum outreach, community engagement, educational programming, group reservations, or a related field. Strong verbal and written communication skills, with confidence initiating calls and building new relationships. Excellent organization, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple schedules and follow-ups. A proactive approach and demonstrated ability to move inquiries toward participation or bookings. Comfort using email, spreadsheets, shared calendars, and contact databases. Sensitivity to Holocaust history and a commitment to the museum’s educational mission. Museum or nonprofit experience is welcome; relevant experience in education, admissions, or relationship-based sales is also valued. Schedule and Location This position is based at our museum in Newport Beach. Availability during weekday school hours and on-site attendance for scheduled tours are required. The weekly schedule will be agreed upon based on outreach and tour needs.
