Job Opportunity: General Endocrinologist

Our organization is actively looking for full-time general Endocrinologists to join our practices located in Long Island. Our facilities in Manhasset are equipped with cutting-edge technology and bring together a team of skilled physicians alongside the expertise of a leading academic medical center. This extensive multi-specialty practice offers a comprehensive range of services, including primary care, women’s health (OB/GYN), cardiology, endocrinology, and more, all under one roof.

Located in Oceanside, New York , our award-winning, not-for-profit teaching hospital, known as Mount Sinai South Nassau, serves the entire South Shore, extending from the Rockaways in Queens to Massapequa and beyond. We pride ourselves on delivering quality, compassionate care at our main campus and through nine additional satellite facilities in the region. As one of the largest hospitals in the area, we have 455 beds, over 900 physicians, and a workforce of 3,500 employees.

The Department of Medicine at our facility, led by Dr. Aaron E. Glatt, includes 400 voluntary and full-time Internists and sub-specialists. We also host an ACGME-accredited Internal Medicine Residency Program, which began in July 2019. Our hospital features Long Island's only free-standing 9-1-1 receiving Emergency Department, located in Long Beach. In addition to our extensive outpatient specialty centers, we provide emergency and elective angioplasty services and are recognized as a designated Stroke Center by the New York State Department of Health. Furthermore, we are accredited as a Comprehensive Community Cancer Center by the American College of Surgeons and recognized by the Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Association.

The selected candidate will join a full-time faculty practice in both inpatient and outpatient general Endocrinology, with opportunities to specialize in specific endocrine disorders. This role involves providing consultations in both office and inpatient settings and participating in the Internal Medicine Residency Program. The candidate will collaborate closely with various specialists in Medicine and other departments, as well as with our esteemed Diabetes Education Center, enabling patients to meet many of their healthcare needs in one location. Additionally, the candidate will work alongside senior Head/Neck Surgeons at the Thyroid/Parathyroid Center. A competitive salary and benefits package will be provided.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve a diverse patient population while enjoying a region known for excellent school districts and convenient access to Manhattan.
• Collaborate with clinical support staff, including nurses, medical assistants, and Certified Diabetes Educators.
• Utilize EMR systems such as Allscripts, Athena, and Epic.
• Engage in teaching and/or research activities as desired.
• Handle administrative tasks in coordination with the Metabolic Disorders Service Line Administrator.
• Work in partnership with a comprehensive Diabetes Education Center.

Qualifications:

• Medical Degree from an accredited institution.
• Valid New York Medical License.
• Board Eligible or Board Certified in Endocrinology.
• Commitment to our organization and the communities we serve.
• Strong communication skills, excellent bedside manner, and organizational abilities.
• A collaborative work ethic and a desire to contribute to a team-oriented, performance-driven healthcare system.
• Experience with various glucose monitoring systems and insulin delivery devices, including continuous glucose monitoring, insulin pump therapy, and insulin pens.

Compensation:

The salary range for this position is between $220,000 and $350,000 , excluding bonuses, incentive compensation, or benefits.

Actual salaries may vary based on factors such as experience, specialties, historical productivity, and community needs. Therefore, the final salary may be closer to either end of the range or, in some cases, may fall outside of it.
