General Laborer – Manufacturing

Location: 2251 Manchester Road Erie, PA 16506

Schedule: Monday–Friday | 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM

Status: Full-Time | Hourly | Non-Exempt

Solenoid Solutions, a Control Devices company, is growing and looking for a dependable, hardworking General Laborer to support our manufacturing operations. In this role, you'll help keep our machining operations running efficiently by supporting production, moving materials, maintaining an organized facility, and assisting with daily manufacturing activities.

What You'll Do

As a General Laborer, you'll play a key role in supporting our machining department by:

• Complete scheduled preventive maintenance on CNC machines, including cleaning, oil changes, coolant refills, and conveyor removal/reinstallation.
• Remove chips and debris from machines using compressed air and other tools.
• Operate an overhead crane to safely assist with maintenance activities.
• Clean up oil and coolant spills and maintain an organized work area.
• Operating forklifts and overhead cranes to safely move materials
• Loading and unloading incoming and outgoing products
• Assisting CNC operators with offloading finished parts
• Washing parts using established procedures
• Keeping raw material storage organized and stocked
• Emptying and organizing metal chip bins
• Weighing and recording outgoing scrap materials
• Cleaning machinery and maintaining a safe, organized production floor
• Operating floor scrubbers and general cleaning equipment
• Performing routine preventative maintenance cleanouts
• Using measuring gages to inspect parts when needed
• Following all quality, safety, and manufacturing procedures
• Identifying quality concerns and stopping production when necessary
• Working overtime as business needs require

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Manufacturing or industrial experience preferred
• Forklift experience preferred
• Overhead crane experience is a plus
• Ability to read measuring gages and perform basic inspections
• Basic math skills including decimals, measurements, weights, and calculations
• Strong verbal communication skills

Physical Requirements

This is an active position requiring you to:

• Stand and walk for extended periods
• Frequently bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach
• Lift up to 50 pounds
• Use your hands continuously throughout the shift
• Work safely around machinery and industrial equipment
