This position is accountable for the provision of patient care and other activities as permitted by licensure and defined within Credentialing and Privileging documentation (hospital), Credentialing and Scope of Practice (Medical Group), Consultation and Referral Plan (DOPL) or other similar documentation as appropriate. As part of that patient care, this position is accountable to: deliver optimal patient care through effective clinical practice; education of the patient, patient's family, clinical staff, and others; consultation with other healthcare providers; and maintain current knowledge regarding options for optimal patient care and outcomes.\n

About this role:

As a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner in Emergency Medicine, you will work with a team of healthcare professionals committed to providing quality care and excellent patient experience.

  You will practice at St. James Healthcare, a Level 4 Trauma Center, in Butte, MT.

\n

  Shifts will be 12-hour shifts typically 11-11

\n
• \n

  Full-time position - roughly 12- 14 shifts a month

• \n

  Potential to pick up extra shifts if there's a need.

\n
• \n

  Close working relationship with our Hospitalist team.

\n
• \n

  You will provide care to wide range of patients in a quickly evolving environment.

\n

  Supportive group and excellent physician partnership.

  Connections to St. Vincent Regional Hospital, a Level I Trauma Center, and other Intermountain Health hospitals.

What you’ll bring:

• \n

  An active Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) License by the MT State Board.

\n
• \n

  Prescriptive Authority by the MT state board of Nursing or Medical Examiners and DEA License.

\n
• \n

  Current BLS certification endorsed by the American Heart Association.

\n
• \n

  ACLS Certification within 6 months of employment (site specific).

\n
• \n

  Ability to successfully complete Intermountain Health’s credentialing process

\n
• \n

  Ability to communicate effectively and diplomatically within a multi-functional team.

\n
• \n

  Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

\n
• \n

  Experience as a provider in Emergency Medicine preferred.

\n
• \n

  Passion for rural Emergency Medicine.

\n

St. James Healthcare is a 98-bed Level III Trauma Center has provided care in Southwest Montana and the surrounding area since 1881, and our clinical network ensures community needs are met. We have Life Flight services available 24-7-365 to receive & transport patients as needed.  We offer comprehensive, specialty care, including a da Vinci Robotics surgery. Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.\n

\n Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.\n
\n - and -\n
\n Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.\n
\n - and -\n
\n Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.\n
\n - and -\n
\n Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items. Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc).\n

\n May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time.\n
