Sr. Plant Engineer

Senior Plant Engineer at Pfizer's Sanford manufacturing site responsible for maximizing HVAC/R equipment availability and reliability while supporting biopharmaceutical production. The role focuses on continuous improvement, preventive maintenance optimization, and capital project management across solution prep, fermentation, purification, and chemistry operations.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Validation teams to troubleshoot equipment issues and implement process improvements
• Lead capital projects including equipment evaluation, purchase, installation, and replacement planning
• Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance strategies to enhance equipment performance
• Provide technical expertise on pharmaceutical clean room HVAC/R infrastructure and maintain accountability for site-wide assets
• Apply structured problem-solving to improve equipment reliability and support biopharmaceutical manufacturing processes

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree with 4+ years experience, or Master's with 2+ years, or PhD with any years, or Associate's with 8+ years, or high school diploma with 10+ years
• Registered Professional Engineer (PE) or ability to obtain within 18 months
• Working knowledge of Process Safety Management, Change of Design, and Mechanical Integrity
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, reliability analysis software, and computerized maintenance management systems
• Plant utility systems design and layout experience (steam, WFI, compressed air, plumbing, fire protection)
• Strong project management and technical problem-solving skills
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functionally and communicate with multiple organizational levels
