Location Irene H. King Elementary (.6) and Kenneth L. Hermansen Elementary School (.4) Job Summary The SRT Leader is responsible for: Working with administration and staff to improve instructional outcomes for learners. Coordinating building‑based special education programs and services. Coordinating problem‑solving activities performed by Student Resource Teams. Coordinating and facilitating IEP meetings that comply with IDEA and ISBE Special Education Rules, Regulations, and Procedural Safeguards. Maintaining accurate and up‑to‑date IEP database and required student records. Handling additional duties as assigned in accordance with Board policies and requirements. Qualifications Current Illinois Teaching (PEL) Professional Educator Licensure with required endorsement (LBS1, Type 73 School Psychologist or School Social Worker) Knowledge of current, research‑based teaching techniques and instructional methodologies for children who are at‑risk and have special needs. Familiarity with IDEA and ISBE Special Education Rules, Regulations, and Procedural Safeguards. Familiarity with the use of technology and related IEP databases. Ability to facilitate problem‑solving teams and IEP meetings. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with staff and families. Ability to work cooperatively with others. Leadership experience working with ISBE. Working Conditions Salary is in accordance with the teacher salary schedule.
