Position Summary The Assistant Director of Training is an essential member of theCAPS /Fontaine Center leadership team. Reporting to the Sr.Associate Director of Clinical Services and Training, thisleadership position’s primary focus will be on the continueddevelopment and implementation of a strategic vision for, andoversight of, all the aspects of the various training programsoffered at CAPS, including our American Psychological Association (APA ) accredited doctoral internship program, and our AdvancedDoctoral practicum and Social Work practicum programs. In addition, this position will provide direct services to studentsand provide oversight of all supervision of our trainees in theirvarious levels of training. In collaboration with other members ofthe CAPS /Fontaine Leadership team, this position ensurescompliance with Joint Commission Standards; engages inmultidisciplinary consultation teams; creatively developscutting-edge training opportunities; and assists in monitoringclient assignment and referral. Tenure Status Non-Tenure Track Minimum Qualifications Master’s degree in a disciplinary area appropriate for theposition. Additional Requirements UHC Minimum: Doctorate in Psychology from an APA accredited program andcompletion of an APA accredited internship (or equivalent). Licensure as a Psychologist in the State of Georgia by the dateof first employment. Four years of experience in evaluation and treatment ofindividuals whose age and psychological development are like thoseof our population (i.e. late adolescence through middle age) isrequired. Relevant/Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, and/orCertification UHC Preferred: Two years of experience in an administrative or supervisoryrole. Three years of experience providing clinical supervision withina formal training program. One year of experience directing or coordinating practicumstudent, intern, and/or post-doctoral fellow training. Four or more years of experience in the evaluation andtreatment of individuals whose age and psychological developmentare similar to traditional and non-traditional collegestudents. AHA Heartsaver CPR / AED certification required after startdate. Background working with disorders typically seen at universitycounseling centers. Background working in a multidisciplinary setting. Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/orCompetencies Strong leadership and management skills. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced work environment. Effective verbal and written communications skills and the ability to work well with multi-disciplinary teams. Familiarity with regulatory compliance related to confidentiality including HIPAA, FERPA, state, federal anduniversity/system wide guidelines. Ability to work effectively with students from allbackgrounds. Advanced knowledge of theory and research on clinicalsupervision and training. Advanced skills in the delivery of group and individualclinical supervision. Ability to engage in data-informed decision-making, knowledgeof current trends in collegiate mental health services, ability to develop, implement, and evaluate models of clinical training Demonstrated knowledge of issues challenging the well-being ofcollege students. Training and skills in providing telehealth services. Familiarity with short-term models of treatment. Ability to work with an electronic health record. Duties/Responsibilities Leadership, Program Development and Management: Develop, implement, and oversee all aspects of training,including our American Psychological Association ( APA ) accrediteddoctoral internship program, and our Advanced Doctoral practicumand Social Work practicum programs. Oversee adherence to APAaccreditation standards, and developing and adjusting trainingschedules as needed. Provide managerial support for the CAPS /Fontaine CenterLeadership team in the overall management and administration of allservices and participate in general policy development for the CAPS/Fontaine Center. Provide executive oversight for the Sr. Associate Director andthe Assistant Director of Mental Health Services with theintegration of trainees and training curricula into all clinicalservices. Acquire and manage feedback regarding staff performanceand complete timely annual evaluations for their directreports. Advise and monitor clinical oversight of daily operations. Actively promote and facilitate the development, retention& engagement of each staff member. Percentage Of Time 45 Duties/Responsibilities Direct Client Service: Provide age-appropriate direct client care and supportservices, including clinical evaluation andcounseling/psychotherapy to eligible members of the UGAcommunity Consistent with UHC & CAPS Policy & Procedure manuals,develop idiosyncratic treatment plan based on an investigation ofempirically supported treatment options, make appropriatereferrals, and accurately document treatment provided. Participate in a rotational on-call duty to assist students incrisis and following up on outside emergency care.
