Job Summary:

The Interior Detailer is responsible for the final cleaning, detailing, and presentation of luxury van interiors prior to delivery. This role ensures each vehicle meets the company’s high standards for cleanliness, finish quality, and customer-ready appearance. The Interior Detailer works at the final stage of production and acts as a visual and functional quality checkpoint, identifying cosmetic defects, incomplete work, or cleanliness issues before release. This is a hands-on, detail-oriented role requiring precision, consistency, and pride in craftsmanship.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform thorough cleaning of all interior surfaces, including:

• Cabinetry and wood finishes
• Upholstery and seating
• Flooring and carpets
• Windows and glass
• Trim and hardware
• Remove dust, debris, adhesives, fingerprints, and installation residue.
• Ensure all compartments, drawers, and storage areas are clean and free of debris.
• Use appropriate cleaning products based on material type (wood, leather, fabric, etc.).

Finish Quality Inspection (Final Visual Gate)

Inspect for:

• Scratches, dents, or cosmetic damage
• Surface imperfections
• Misalignment or loose components
• Incomplete installations
• Identify and flag issues for correction before release.
• Coordinate with production teams for touch-ups or repairs.

Final Presentation Readiness

• Ensure the vehicle is customer-ready in appearance.
• Align and organize all interior elements.
• Confirm removal of all protective materials and labels.

Prepare vehicle for:

• Final Quality Inspection
• Delivery
• Customer walkthrough

Exterior Support (as needed)

• Assist with light exterior cleaning or touch-up as required.
• Ensure entry points (doors, thresholds) are clean and presentable.

Material & Tool Management

• Maintain detailing supplies and equipment.
• Ensure proper use and storage of chemicals and cleaning tools.
• Monitor inventory of detailing materials and request replenishment.

Process & Quality Compliance

• Follow standardized detailing procedures and checklists.
• Maintain consistency across all units.
• Support continuous improvement of detailing processes.
• Adhere to safety and chemical handling guidelines.

Cross-Functional Coordination

Work with:

• Production Supervisors to address defects
• Quality team for final release standards
• Final Assembly team for readiness timing
• Ensure no unit is released with visible defects or cleanliness issues

Qualifications:

Required:

• 1–3 years of detailing, cleaning, or finishing experience
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to work with hands and remain active throughout shift
• Basic understanding of different material types

Preferred:

• Experience in automotive, RV, marine, or luxury product detailing
• Experience working in manufacturing or production environment
• Familiarity with high-end finishes and materials

Compensation:

• $20-$23 Hourly depending on experience.
