American Traveler is hiring a Telemetry RN for a night shift contract requiring IL licensure, EKG proficiency, and prior MS/Tele experience.
Hospital-based Medical-Surgical/Telemetry unit caring for boarded patients in the ED (not treating ED patients directly).
Night shift, 12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM.
8-week contract length.
Every-other weekend requirement.
Holiday coverage as needed.
Floating required to other MS units when not needed in the ED.
No on-call requirements.
Epic EMR used.
Active IL RN license required (temporary license accepted if permanent application is in process).
Current BLS certification (American Heart or American Red Cross accepted).
Minimum 2 years of experience required; 4+ years preferred.
EKG test score of 80% or higher required prior to consideration.
Epic EMR experience required.
New graduates not accepted.
2 current professional references from a Supervisor/Manager/Charge within the last year, with at least one travel reference preferred.
Provide telemetry-level nursing care for boarded patients in the ED and float to MS units as needed.
On Day 1 of orientation, travelers must pass an on-site EKG test (pass/fail) after receiving a study book in advance.
Local candidates accepted at the same rate.
Returning permanent or per diem staff must have been away for at least 12 months to be considered as a traveler.
Maximum RTO for this 8-week contract is 3 days.
Facility conducts a brief 10-15 minute interview prior to placement.
