Fire Technology Instructor, Part‑time Adjunct Pool (Tehachapi) Job Number: FY22-2300234 Salary: $67.00 per hour Job Type: Temporary – Adjuncts Location: CC – East Kern, Tehachapi, CA Department: Career Technical Education Basic Function The Kern Community College District accepts applications from part‑time, hourly faculty pools on a continuous basis. Qualified applicants who meet the minimum requirements will be contacted by department supervisors, deans, or division chairs. Applications remain active for up to two years. Representative Duties Provide instruction in a full range of Fire Technology courses. Teach at other campus sites, day or evening classes, weekend classes, large classes, distance learning, and use multiple teaching methodologies. Participate in student recruitment and articulation of transfer programs for the English department. Maintain subject‑matter currency and develop and revise curriculum. Use computer and multimedia technology and participate collegially in departmental, college, and discipline‑specific professional activities. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree and at least two years of occupational and/or professional experience directly related to the courses taught. Associate’s degree and at least six years of occupational and/or professional experience directly related to the courses taught. Equivalent qualification combinations may be considered; candidates should request and submit an application for equivalence with supporting documents. Demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students. All degrees and credits must be from accredited institutions. Degrees from outside the United States must be evaluated by an approved credentialing service. Work effectively with students with a wide range of skills, motivations, academic, and vocational goals. Develop curriculum, including curriculum delivered via different modalities.
