About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Obstetrics Duration: 17 weeks Shift: 12H Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Active IL license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, C-EFM, NRP Must-Have: - Experience in stabilization of the newborn - Circulator experience for C-sections Description: Clinicians will be responsible for providing quality care in the obstetrics unit. The unit has a focus on both low-risk and high-risk obstetric patients. Stabilization of newborns is a required skill. Circulator roles for C-sections are essential. RNs will need to titrate certain medications such as Pitocin and Magnesium. Charge Nurse or House Supervisor responsibilities may be assigned per shift. There are certified nurse aides who assist as surgical techs. A Newborn Pediatric physician is available 24/7 on call. Central monitoring for fetal monitoring is in place. RNs and providers are responsible for reading fetal heart rate strips. Weekend and holiday rotations are part of the scheduling requirements. Travelers may be floated to support other units as needed. Scrubs must be changed into hospital-provided attire for C-section care. Unit-specific orientation will be provided.
