Senior Water Resources Engineer Locations: Chicago, IL | Minneapolis, MN | Muscatine, IA Job Type: Hybrid Responsibilities Lead the preparation of hydrologic and hydraulic modeling tasks, including setup of models and review of team work. Guide the team through modeling efforts and ensure quality of results. Collaborate with other disciplines (civil, mechanical, electrical, I&C, structural, CAD) to produce plans and specifications. Consistently manage and deliver projects on time and within budget. Manage and mentor staff, fostering professional growth and development. Participate in local professional organizations, preparing and presenting market‑specific papers and presentations. Project development including hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, 1‑D and 2‑D river and flood modeling, ponding and detention area sizing/design, streambank stabilization, civil design layout, grading and drainage, utility layout and design, and low‑impact development feature layout/design. Perform field work and domestic/international travel as required. Develop career toward task management, project management, and/or team managerial responsibilities. Required Qualifications Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related discipline. At least eight years of relevant experience. Licensed Professional Engineer (PE). Experience with 1‑D and 2‑D hydraulic/hydrologic modeling software (HEC‑RAS, PCSWMM, HydroCAD, etc.). Strong knowledge of water resources engineering analysis and design, with the ability to lead project development and determine solutions to meet client needs. Strong verbal, computer, and organizational skills. Excellent technical writing skills. Excellent team leadership skills. Active participation in professional organizations. Working knowledge of AutoDesk Civil 3D and/or Bentley Microstation. Experience in site grading design, surface runoff management, detention design, and conveyance.
