Fitness Trainer

Reports to: Club Manager Status: Full Time/Non-Supervisor/Non-Exempt Job Summary Responsible for running the Planet Fitness group fitness program (View email address on click.appcast.io). This includes assisting new members in the achievement of their fitness goals by designing a simple workout program and instructing them on the proper use of equipment. Responsibilities Conduct and run the View email address on click.appcast.io program, including creating and following the schedule. Consult with members regarding their fitness goals and instruct them on how to use the equipment properly and safely. Promote View email address on click.appcast.io class sign-ups creatively and uniquely. Create bi‑weekly updates consisting of a variety of exercises. Meet class requirements based on club size and member traffic. Assist with front desk activities: Answer phones warmly and address call inquiries. Check members into the system. Process new member sign‑ups. Conduct tours for potential members. Update member account information. Respond to member questions and concerns promptly and refer to appropriate leadership as needed. Maintain club cleanliness and appearance; help keep the club neatness high. Minimum Qualifications Honesty and good work ethic. Strong communication and organizational skills. A passion for fitness and health. Punctuality and reliability are a must. Exceptional customer service skills; able to interact in a positive and professional way with members and co‑workers, exceeding the member’s expectations. Strong listening ability with the capacity to empathize and problem‑solve. Demonstrate diplomacy in all interactions while using appropriate behavior and language. Completed fitness trainer certification. Physical Demands Standing and walking at least 75% of the shift. Talking in person or on the phone at least 75% of the shift.
