Preschool Instructional Assistant

Rossville Consolidated School District is seeking a caring, dependable, and student-centered individual to serve as a Preschool Instructional Assistant at Rossville Elementary School. Our inclusive preschool program serves both general education students and students receiving special education services.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Assist the classroom teacher in providing developmentally appropriate instruction and activities.
• Support students' academic, social, emotional, communication, and physical development.
• Work with individual students and small groups under the teacher's direction.
• Help implement accommodations, individualized supports, and Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), as directed.
• Assist students with classroom routines, transitions, personal care, and other daily needs.
• Prepare instructional materials and maintain an organized, welcoming, and safe classroom.
• Supervise students during classroom activities, arrival, dismissal, meals, recess, and other assigned times.
• Maintain the confidentiality of student and family information.
• Collaborate positively with teachers, specialists, families, and other school personnel.
• Perform other duties assigned by the classroom teacher or building administrator.

Preferred Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience working with preschool-aged children is preferred.
• Experience supporting students with disabilities is beneficial.
• Ability to work patiently and effectively with children who have a variety of learning and developmental needs.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
• Dependable attendance and a positive, professional attitude.
• Ability to meet all district employment requirements, including required background checks.
