Job Title: Design Engineer CREO

Job Description

The Design Engineer is a critical member of the IDS team whose mission is to ensure that designs meet mission requirements. This role involves analyzing, designing, and modeling product enhancements on existing programs, as well as supporting conceptual designs for new programs.

Responsibilities

• Provide practical, functional, and compliant equipment designs.
• Read and interpret specifications, proposals, pricing, and correspondence.
• Evaluate designs for performance, safety, and reliability.
• Perform engineering analysis to support the selection of parts, components, and materials that meet requirements.
• Generate technical component documentation.
• Provide technical assistance to the production and testing teams.
• Prepare technical proposals, quotations, reports, and presentations.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in Creo and SolidWorks.
• Experience with sheet metal and CAD.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical design engineering.
• Experience in metal fabrication.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Willingness to work on the shop floor for first-time builds.

Work Environment

The work environment involves using advanced design software like Creo and SolidWorks. It requires a practical approach to equipment design and the ability to work closely with production and testing teams. This role may involve spending time on the shop floor during the first-time builds of new designs.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chillicothe, IL.

The pay range for this position is $31.25 - $43.27/hr.
