Medical Education Evaluation & CQI - Asst/Assoc Dean

Assistant/Associate Dean Program Evaluation and Continuous Quality Improvement This newly developed role will report to the Executive Vice Dean and will provide services across the medical education continuum, including faculty affairs. The Assistant/Associate Dean for Program Evaluation and Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) will oversee program development, data collection and analysis to inform and support improvement of educational programs within the MD‑degree curriculum, including faculty and resident development. The successful candidate will be appointed at a faculty rank commensurate with experience and consistent with Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences guidelines for appointments and promotions. Responsibilities Oversee all aspects of evaluation of the medical education program, including planning, data collection, compilation, analysis, interpretation, and dissemination of program evaluation data reports. Lead efforts to optimize survey and assessment systems for evaluating individual curricular elements and overall educational programs, supporting continuous quality improvement and monitoring the impact of curricular changes. Collaborate with leadership to develop a comprehensive learner assessment system that evaluates learner outcomes across the full MD‑degree curriculum. Direct the continuous monitoring process for compliance with all twelve LCME accreditation standards; serve as a core member of the LCME preparation team. Develop and implement plans to address any identified areas of potential non‑compliance with LCME accreditation standards. Serve as a member of the professional development team to promote and expand medical education scholarship, including grant applications, national presentations, and publication of scholarship. Participate in curriculum, student affairs, admissions, and faculty meetings as needed and requested by the Executive Vice Dean. Qualifications A Ph.D. or Ed.D. is required (focus in educational or psychological measurement preferred). M.D. candidates with relevant experience will also be strongly considered and are expected to maintain a level of clinical engagement in their specialty. Prior experience in evaluation is required, preferably in academic or medical institutions. Candidate may qualify for the Associate Dean level depending on experience. Knowledge and expertise in statistical and computer applications in educational assessment. Knowledge of organizational behavior related to medical education components (courses, departments, administrators, etc.) is preferred. Attention to detail, accuracy, and organization. Demonstrated scholarship and/or grant support.
