Wastewater Field Technician – Southeast Houston (Temporary)

Key Responsibilities

As a Wastewater Field Technician, you’ll support the operations of municipal wastewater treatment facilities by:

• Coordinating and scheduling sample pickups to meet lab deadlines.

• Collecting wastewater samples from treatment plants and transport sites according to strict safety and environmental protocols.

• Ensuring accurate and complete documentation on all sample bottles and accompanying paperwork.

• Delivering samples to designated labs and maintaining chain-of-custody protocols.

• Supporting data integrity by verifying deliveries and collecting required signatures.

Qualifications

• Education : Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Environmental Science, Microbiology, Engineering, or a related field.

• Licensing : Valid driver’s license required.

• Experience : Previous work with wastewater systems or municipal utility districts is a plus. Familiarity with sampling protocols and GIS software (ArcGIS or QGIS) is preferred.

• Attributes : Detail-oriented, reliable, punctual, and committed to safety and quality in the field.

Physical Demands

• Ability to lift and carry up to 150 lbs.

• Comfortable with long driving periods and frequent physical activity (bending, walking, standing).

• Able to work in all types of weather conditions, including heat, cold, and rain.

Compensation & Benefits

• Hourly Pay : $26.00/hour
• Schedule : Full-time
