Job TitleHemodialysis Inpatient Unit NurseJob DescriptionAbout the unit: This is a 7-bay hemodialysis inpatient unit staffed with RNs and hemodialysis technicians. These team members care for the acute renal failure patient as well as chronic patients with end stage renal disease. Treatments may be given within the hemodialysis unit as well as within the critical care and medical units at bedside. The group possesses many years of dialysis experience. Nurses provide quality patient care under the direction of the Nurse Leader according to Corewell Health's policies and procedures. Applies the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation and discharge needs of patient/family/significant other. Partners with and utilizes patient/family input and goals in planning plan of care. Demonstrates knowledge of and competently performs technical procedures and uses equipment properly. Documents in the patient record in a timely, accurate and concise manner. Develops teaching strategies for patient/family; documents education and learning appropriately in health record.QualificationsAssociates in Nursing RequiredBachelors in Nursing Required within 5 yearsExternal candidates are required to have a minimum of 2 years of related acute care experience. External candidate must successfully complete a competency assessment provided by nursing education requiredInternal candidates with less than 2 years of clinical experience must be approved by their current nurse leader and the site Chief Nursing Officer.
