Waystar

Waystar is seeking a smart and creative Product Manager with hands‑on experience in the financial and operational challenges facing the healthcare provider market. The role involves leading game‑changing efforts within the company’s product team for new‑to‑market and existing solutions, focusing on revenue cycle solutions built with predictive analytics and workflow automation. Responsibilities Analyze product inputs, customer requirements, design solution architectures, and develop business cases for new product development. Prepare software design plans, including product specifications, use case documentation, and user interface wireframes, both independently and with the User Experience team. Organize market research: analyze customer segments, review industry reports, and assess competitors’ strengths and weaknesses to identify new opportunities. Study healthcare industry standards and stay current on industry changes and compliance issues. Gather inspiration and ideas by visiting customers, reviewing similar products in other domains, and studying how they solve similar problems. Collect direct customer feedback through user tests, support incident reviews, surveys, and on‑site product interaction observations. Work closely with internal and external resources to define system requirements that meet market needs and ensure customer satisfaction and product quality. Assist the Director of Product Management in coordinating sales, marketing, development, and support teams, integrating divergent ideas into a unified product vision. Manage the product roadmap with the Director of Product Management: document strategy, maintain the feature backlog, and coordinate releases. Qualifications Show a track record of execution and a willingness to roll up sleeves to get things done. Comfortable in front of a whiteboard, able to describe complex information concisely and thoroughly. Understanding of healthcare revenue cycle workflows and how software can simplify payments, gained either through direct experience in a healthcare setting or in an RCM‑focused HIT company. Leadership experience on a team that designed, built, or utilized revenue‑cycle workflow solutions. Proficient in organizing market research, including customer segmentation and industry trend analysis. Robust technical fundamentals, especially in building software. Strong problem‑solving skills, able to analyze issues and design creative solutions. Attention to detail with an extraordinary eye for usability and the customer experience. Excellent written communication skills, conveying complex ideas succinctly. Experience writing and refining user stories with engineering teams. Great people skills: facilitation, negotiation, and stakeholder persuasion. Flexibility and agility, able to rapidly adapt to changing situations and inputs. College degree required; Business or Computer Science degree preferred. Preferred experience using Jira or similar feature and user‑story software. Benefits Competitive total rewards (base salary + bonus, if applicable). Customizable benefits package (3 medical plans with Health Savings Account company match). Generous paid time off for non‑exempt team members (starting with 3 weeks + 13 paid holidays, including 2 personal floating holidays). Flexible time off for exempt team members. Paid parental leave, including maternity and paternity leave. Educational assistance and free LinkedIn Learning access. Free mental health and family planning programs, including adoption assistance and fertility support. 401(k) program with company match. Pet insurance. Employee Resource Groups.
