Traveling Sterile Processing TechFull-timeCompany DescriptionHealthcareJob DescriptionSterile Processing TechSpringfield, ILExp Traveling 2 yrsSecond ShiftReady to start immediatelyThe purpose of the Sterile Processing Technician is to provide sterile surgical instrumentation to the Operating Room(s) as well as other areas of the hospital.Primary duties include but are not limited to:Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the patient by adhering to standards, policies and proceduresAble to operate within budgetary specifications, including time management, productivity and accuracy of practiceMust demonstrate knowledge of principles of growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education, skills competencyMust be able to operate all department equipmentMaintains proper documentation of all sterilization processes and biological monitoring activities.Adheres to all infection control guidelines.Accurately prepares, inspects, assembles, and sterilizes items according to their specific process guidelines.Maintains inventoryCommunicates with OR staff to ensure instruments needed are available and sterilized for all casesRetrieves malfunctioning instruments and ensures repairs are completed.Demonstrate excellent organization skills and an ability to identify process bottlenecks and drive improvements.QualificationsQualifications for consideration:High school diploma or GED equivalent, required2 years' experience in a hospital setting or surgical center with sterilization responsibilities, requiredCurrent certification as a Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST)Additional InformationAll your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.
