This role involves working with a small team to evaluate and price a diverse range of items—often specializing in categories such as jewelry or electronics—while ensuring compliance with industry regulations. The pawnbroker must skillfully balance customer service with financial risk assessment to maintain a profitable and trustworthy business.
Responsibilities
- Appraise pawned items accurately to determine value
- Process loan applications and manage cash transactions
- Maintain detailed records and ensure compliance with regulations
- Manage inventory of pawned goods efficiently
- Analyze pricing to optimize profitability
- Assess risk associated with loans and inventory
- Provide excellent customer service and negotiate terms
- Collaborate with a small team to support daily operations
