You make a great first impression as you are professional and kind in your demeanor and approach.You don't mind getting a little dirty … this could include (but is not limited to) assisting the patient with activities of daily living such as providing assistance with personal hygiene (toileting, bathing, care of mouth, skin and hair), ambulation, eating, dressing, shaving, light housekeeping, and other household chores.You don't have to be a gourmet chef but you can prepare a good meal and work your way around a kitchen.You are able to perform other assigned activities which are taught by a nurse, for a specific patient, which includes but is not limited to:Assisting with the change of ostomy appliancesReinforcement of dressingsAssisting with the use of devices for aid in daily living (cane, walker, wheelchair or lift device)Assisting with prescribed range of motion exercisesAssisting with self-administered simple urine tests for sugar acetone or albumin (may not interpret results)Measuring and preparing special dietsMeasuring intake and outputTaking vital signs (temperature, pulse, respirations and blood pressure)Application of an external (condom-type) catheterAssisting with application of arm sling, arm splint or leg splintMust Haves:High school degree and/or a G.E.D. certificateSix months experience as a Home Health Aide (HHA) in health care (in homes or facilities) and successful completion of a State approved Nurse Aide or Home Health Aide (HHA) and/or Personal Care Assistant (PCA) courseThe Home Health Aide shall have successfully completed a Competency Evaluation that meets the State licensing law for home health agenciesMust have a sympathetic attitude toward the care of the sick, and ability to deal effectively with the demands of the jobCurrent CPR Certificate is recommendedMeets the requirements for employees providing direct patient careRead, write, speak and understand English as needed for the jobHave a valid driver's license and use of an insured automobile for work or access to adequate transportationWhy Right at Home?We truly believe that where you work matters, and as a company that believes in improving the lives of those we serve, we think we know a thing or two about what makes our employees happy.Each Right at Home office and business is independently owned and operated under a franchise agreement with Right at Home, LLC.
