Bus Driver

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and responsible individual to join our team as a Bus Driver at Pablo Roybal Elementary School. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely transporting students to and from school, ensuring their well‑being during transit, and maintaining a positive and secure environment. This full‑time position requires a commitment to punctuality, safety, and excellent communication skills. Responsibilities Safely operate a school bus, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations. Transport students to and from school and school‑related events in a timely manner. Conduct pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections of the bus to ensure safety and proper functioning. Maintain a clean and organized bus interior. Assist students in boarding and exiting the bus, ensuring their safety at all times. Monitor student behavior on the bus and enforce safety rules to ensure a respectful and safe environment. Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff regarding transportation‑related issues. Report any mechanical issues or safety concerns to the appropriate personnel promptly. Attend required training sessions and meetings to stay updated on safety protocols and regulations. Maintain accurate records of routes, mileage, and student attendance. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent. Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with a passenger endorsement. Clean driving record with no major violations. Previous experience driving a bus or similar vehicle preferred. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in various situations. Patience and the ability to work with children of different ages and backgrounds. First aid and CPR certification is a plus. Must pass background checks and drug screening as required by law.
