Veterinary Technician Medical Oncology

VCA Dallas Animal Specialty Hospital (formerly VCA Animal Diagnostic Clinic) is seeking an enthusiastic Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our Medical Oncology team full-time!

Location: 17727 Dallas Pkwy, Dallas, TX 75287

Salary - $22-$27/hr. Based on experience.

Schedule is Full-time, 4-5 days a week

VCA Dallas Animal Specialty Hospital is excited to welcome a full-time Veterinary Technician to our growing Medical Oncology team. As we transition into our new name and state-of-the-art facility, our longstanding commitment to excellence in patient care, team development, and collaborative medicine remains unchanged.

Our brand-new, 25,000 sq. ft. hospital is one of the most advanced in the region, featuring cutting-edge technology.

As an Oncology Veterinary Technician will be able to demonstrate the following:

• Ability to admit Oncology patients and obtain through history including current medications and dosages, response to treatment and side effects, intensity and duration.
• Discharge Oncology patients from the hospital, including basic client education.
• Be willing/able to assist veterinary technicians in procedures outside of chemotherapy administration, such as CT and clinical trial studies
• Assist in the preparation and delivery of chemotherapy treatments
• Collaborate with veterinarians and other team members to ensure accurate treatment plans and patient safety
• Full Technician Skill Utilization
• Venipuncture / IVC placement
• Hands Free Radiology (Associate safety a top priority)
• Participate in CPR
• Calculate drug doses
• Working collaboratively with team members of all hospital services
• Providing compassionate care for all patients
• Maintain accurate medical records and documentation of treatments
• Celebrate when patients finish their chemotherapy therapy, cancer-free!
