Job Summary Primary City/State: Medical Office Building - 20745 N Scottsdale Rd Scottsdale, AZ 85255. Category: Skilled Nursing. Shift: Day. Department: Cancer Care – Thompson Peak. Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM (4 days a week, 9.5 hours per day). Mission: The RN’s practice is guided by the ANA Standard for Professional Nurses and the Code of Ethics. The RN records patient medical history, helps perform diagnostics, administers medication and therapies, coordinates care plans, and provides education to patients and families. The RN supports clinical knowledge advancement, mentors new hires, and collaborates with multidisciplinary teams. Responsibilities Collect and analyze health data to develop, implement, evaluate, and revise individualized patient care plans. Administer medications and treatments, including IV lines, while monitoring for dosage accuracy and interactions. Observe patients, record observations, and adjust care plans as needed. Consult with physicians and other clinicians; provide direction to licensed practical nurses and nursing aides. Precept new hire staff and students, ensuring competency satisfaction. Engage in continuous professional development and evidence‑based practice improvements. Maintain accurate, retrievable documentation of nursing interventions and therapeutic measures. Essential Functions Prioritize data collection based on patient condition and involve family as appropriate. Use nursing diagnoses to design evidence‑based and family‑centered care plans. Initiate appropriate treatments, medications, and emergency measures per established policies. Provide holistic care addressing physical, emotional, spiritual, and social‑cultural needs. Evaluate progress toward outcomes and document assessments in a retrievable format. Continuously evaluate quality of nursing practice, integrating ethics, cultural competence, and evidence‑based research. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and advocate for patient and family needs. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) required; Associate’s or Diploma in Nursing acceptable with completion of a BSN within 60 months of hire. Minimum 10 months of experience in med‑surg or acute specialty setting. One year RN experience required for all float positions. 5 or more years of RN experience may substitute for BSN if it includes direct patient care. All staff caring for stroke patients must meet stroke‑specific education requirements (details in addendum). Licensure & Certifications Registered Nurse license in the State of Arizona (or applicable compact state). Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. Unit‑specific certification as required by specialty area. National certification for unit specific patient population preferred.
