This course provides basic instruction in the Manicuring/Nail Tech field.


This is a 300-hour, evening and weekend, course: preferably the class would be completed in one semester (about 18 hours per week) or could also be extended for completion in 6 months (about 11.5 hours per week) according to the instructor's preference.

Primary Duties

• Develop and deliver engaging curriculum for manicuring courses that align with industry standards and educational goals.
• Conduct hands-on instruction in nail care techniques, including manicures, pedicures, nail art, and nail health.
• Demonstrate proper use of tools, products, and equipment used in manicuring.
• Foster a positive and supportive learning environment that encourages student participation and success.
• Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to facilitate skill development.
• Stay updated on current trends, techniques, and regulations within the manicuring industry.
• Collaborate with colleagues to enhance curriculum, share resources, and improve instructional practices.
• Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and other relevant information.

Minimum Qualifications

• Applicant must hold a current North Carolina license in either cosmetology or nail technology and in addition, they must also hold a current NC instructor's license for either cosmetology or nail technology.

• 2 years minimum experience manicuring/nail tech experience and/or cosmetology experience
