Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg-Oncology RN for a night shift position requiring 2 years of experience and a WV or compact RN license.

Details

• 29-bed Medical Surgical/Oncology unit
• Adult population including medical and surgical oncology patients, palliative care, urology, and telemetry patients
• Patient ratios of 4-5:1 (days) and 5-6:1 (nights)
• Night shift, 3x12 hours (7p-7a), weekdays with every other weekend required
• 36 or 48-hour contract options available
• Floating required within scope to meet facility needs
• Blocked schedule requests may be accommodated
• Uses Cerner charting system

Requirements

• Active WV or Compact RN license required; pending license accepted for consideration
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• BLS certification required
• ONCC/ONS certification required
• Chemotherapy administration experience preferred
• Experience with telemetry, central line draws, ports, blood administration, PCA pumps, bone marrow aspiration assist, and Pleurx chest tubes required
• Minimum 2 Manager and/or Charge Nurse references from the past 2 years required
• Driver's License and SSN required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care for oncology patients including chemotherapy administration, symptom management, and monitoring for oncologic emergencies
• Level IV Trauma Center and major teaching hospital, member of the Council of Teaching Hospitals and Health Systems (COTH)
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Scrub color requirement: Royal Blue/White for RNs
• Flu vaccine required during flu season (October 1 - March 31) unless medical exemption documented; not required outside that window
• COVID vaccine not required
• Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility; those within 75-100 miles may be considered case-by-case at the same rate
• Former permanent employees must wait 2 years from last permanent employment date before returning as a traveler
• Current employees of the Vandalia Health System (including CAMC, Mon Health, Davis Medical Center, Broaddus Hospital, Webster Memorial Hospital, Grafton City Hospital, Highland-Clarksburg Hospital, and Minnie Hamilton Health System) are not eligible for this travel contract
• Holiday RTO requests limited to no more than 1 of the 3 major holidays
• Free parking available for travelers
• First-time travelers not considered
