About the Team:

The Offshore Recovery team is responsible for designing, building and operating the maritime vessels used to land and recover the Terran R launch vehicle. This isn't your standard integration job. We are a lean, fast-moving team who cover the full project lifecycle - beginning with system requirements definition and design, hands-on with build and activation in the shipyard, all the way through supporting critical offshore recovery missions at sea. We collaborate with teams across the company, including Terran R designers, launch pad builders and rocket engine testers!

About the Role:

• Full Lifecycle Support: Lead the earliest phases of build of Recovery subsystems, providing engineering feedback and influencing operation development.
• Next Generation Builds : Communicate lessons-learned from our initial recovery barge to help guide the next generation of landing platform systems and operations.
• Lay the Foundation : Help establish a high bar for build and operational execution as the team grows to support our ambitious recovery rate goals.
• Offshore Operations: Be ready to do all of this not only on the launch site or the dock, but also 300+ miles offshore next to a landed booster!

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Execute recovery subsystem development, recovery operations, and system maintenance activities involving all manner of hardware, from structural build to fluids assembly to avionics repairs to launch day barge operations.
• Support recovery operations across multiple sites, including integrated testing and launch day activities, maintaining focus and clear communication in time-sensitive, hazardous environments
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex recovery system issues, working with engineering to identify solutions and implement corrective actions
• Collaborate with engineering and management to develop safe, efficient processes and continuously improve procedures, quality, and operational cadence
• Mentor and support team members by sharing knowledge, providing constructive feedback, and promoting a culture of safety, collaboration, and technical excellence
• Perform additional launch site tasks as assigned, which may include working outdoors, standing for extended periods, and operating equipment as needed

About You:

• 3+ years of experience in aerospace recovery operations
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience working with some or all common ground systems, including: process tubing and fluids systems, mechanical systems, welding, avionics/sensors and repairs
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, procedures, and system documentation
• Experience troubleshooting mechanical or fluid systems and resolving operational issues
• Ability to use digital tools such as databases and standard office software to document and communicate work
• Ability to work a flexible schedule based on operational timelines, including extended hours, non-standard shifts, as well as prolonged periods (2-4 weeks) offshore.

Nice to haves but not required:

• Experience working with USCG, ABS, or DNV field surveyors performing vessel inspections
• Experience with lifting equipment or crane operations
• Ability to troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, or plumbing systems
• Experience with metal fabrication or mechanical assembly work

Successful candidates must clear a background check administered by the US government to obtain clearance for on-site work at our government partner location in Cape Canaveral, Florida.

$37.23-$51.19 USD
