Job Description Metal Fabrication Shop Laborer to assist with daily shop and material-handling operations. This position includes loading and organizing steel, operating shop equipment, preparing fabricated parts, and keeping the work area clean and safe. Benefits Hands on Training Responsibilities Load, unload, move, and organize steel and other materials Operate a forklift to load and move material when trained and authorized Measure and mark material using a tape measure Operate saws, drills, grinders, and other shop tools Grind, deburr, and clean fabricated parts Assist fabricators with preparing material and completing jobs Keep work areas, tools, and equipment clean and organizedFollow shop safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment Perform other general shop duties as assigned Requirements Must be at least 18 years old Dependable and able to report to work on time Able to follow verbal and written instructions Basic tape-measure skills or willingness to learn Willing to learn how to safely operate saws, drills, grinders, and other shop equipment Willing and able to operate a forklift Able to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform physical shop work throughout the shift Able to safely lift and move materials using proper equipment or assistance when needed Able to wear required personal protective equipment Strong attention to safety, quality, and organization Ability to perform the essential duties of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation #J-18808-Ljbffr Northern Metals, Inc.
