About the Role As Senior Systems Integration Engineer, you will be a key technical leader driving system reliability, ensuring our automated manufacturing clusters perform with the precision required for cell therapy. You will own the robustness pipeline for our existing systems, proactively analyze robot data to characterize performance, drive system improvements and error resolution, and lead investigations to solve challenging electromechanical issues that impact uptime. You will manage the validation and approval of new software releases for deployment, and partner with hardware engineers to validate new designs, ensuring testability and resilience are built into our next‑generation technology from day one. Responsibilities Collaborate with hardware and software teams to standardize testing across the organization. Design the testing architecture and infrastructure, build automated frameworks, and maintain comprehensive test suites (automated and manual) that validate our robotics software and firmware. Investigate, reproduce, and resolve errors across the full system. Collaborate with Field and Hardware teams to triage failures and analyze logs, taking ownership of the validation process to push fixes through to implementation. Proactively analyze cluster performance data to identify failure patterns. Champion the reliability roadmap, determine which system improvements to prioritize, and ensure they are executed to reduce downtime. Lead the planning and validation of new subsystems. Work closely with hardware teams to test prototypes, compile data, and execute on feedback to drive design improvements. Partner with Hardware, Software, and Field Engineering to plan and execute full‑system integration tests within our manufacturing clusters. Contribute to test planning, documentation, and reliability metrics to ensure the scalability and long‑term stability of our automated systems. Qualifications Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Engineering, or a related discipline. 5+ years of professional experience in systems integration or test engineering, specifically within robotics or complex electromechanical systems. Proven experience owning the resolution of complex system‑level issues, from discovery to fix. Strong expertise in Python and experience building automated test frameworks from scratch. Ability to understand and navigate complex system‑level tradeoffs between hardware constraints and software flexibility. Experience leading cross‑functional projects and a demonstrated ability to deliver on technical roadmaps. Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively across hardware and software teams. Nice to Haves Understanding of robotics principles, including kinematics, dynamics, motion planning, and control theory. Experience with project management tools (e.g., Jira) to align cross‑functional teams and drive testing milestones. Hands‑on experience with robotics simulation environments (e.g., Isaac Sim) for automated testing. Experience working in a regulated industry (e.g., GxP, ISO standards). Physical & Working Conditions Ability to reach, stoop, crouch, and kneel; specifically, the need to physically enter, stand, or crouch inside a robotic cluster for testing, debugging, or manual intervention. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and 5 pounds overhead. Manual dexterity required for using hand tools, cabling, and making mechanical adjustments. Work split between a standard office setting and a manufacturing/lab area; plus adherence to safety protocols and awareness of surroundings in the latter. Occasional proximity to hazardous materials (e.g., biological agents, cryogenic materials); direct handling is rare. Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including lab coats, safety glasses, and gloves, when accessing specific lab or manufacturing zones. Standard schedule but may require occasional evening or weekend work to support critical cluster integration milestones or time‑sensitive troubleshooting.
