Job Coach/Caregiver - Up to $21/hr

We are seeking a dedicated Job Coach to join our diverse teamin Elgin and be a part of our life-changing mission. Thehours of this position are Monday- Friday, 8 AM - 4 PM. Thestarting base rate is $20/hr. With at least of acouple years of behavioral experience we could offer an experiencedrate of up to $21.00/hr . We are hiring immediatelyand offer paid training! Who We Are: Marklund is a nonprofit organization that provides residential,educational and therapy services to infants, children, teens andadults with serious and profound developmental disabilities andspecial healthcare needs. With two residential locations – theMarklund Hyde Center in Geneva and the Marklund Wasmond Center inElgin, it is currently home to nearly 178 residents. The Marklund DaySchool offers Multi-Needs and Life Skills programs for children andyoung adults with multiple medical needs, and those diagnosed on theautism spectrum. In addition, our Community Day Services program ateach site is a therapeutic day program for adults who reside atMarklund and those who come in from the community. You will make a difference in the lives of our residents who haveintellectual and/or developmental disabilities in the following ways: Work directly with clients in the implementation of trainingprograms and service plans Assist clients with personal care needs including grooming(brushing hair, brushing teeth, shaving), toileting, feeding meals,showering and dressing Monitor progress in goals including continuous data evaluationseach month Maintain a clean and safe environment for our clients Observe and properly Implement Behavior Management plans includingproactive and reactive strategies Assist in the implementation of vocational and recreational groupactivities and community outings Assist clients with volunteer as well as paid work onsite and inthe community Please note that this job summary is not designed to cover or containa comprehensive listing of activities, duties, or responsibilitiesthat are required of the employee for this job. Experience and Skills Caregiver Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent Caregiver and behavioral experience helpful, but not required( we provide paid on-site training for your DirectSupport Professional certification ) Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job and tomeet its functional and environmental requirements An ideal candidate will have an exceptional work ethic, positiveattitude, and strong commitment to providing excellent care to ourresidents along with the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamicenvironment, and the desire to contribute to a strong culture wherethe entire team works together for the good of each resident.
