Registered Nurse (RN) - Emergency RoomSeeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse to join the Emergency Room unit. This role includes working night shifts, with a commitment to deliver high-quality patient care.Job DetailsUnit Type: Emergency Room (ER)Shift Length: 12 hoursGuaranteed Hours: 48 hours per weekWeekend Requirements: Every other weekendHoliday Requirements: Rotation with permanent staffPosition Requirements: Must have Epic experience due to an upcoming system conversion.QualificationsMinimum of 2 years of experience in Emergency Room nursing.Required Certifications: ACLS (AHA)BLS (AHA)NIHSSPALS (AHA)TNCCMust pass the Advanced Dysrhythmia exam with a score of 83% or higher prior to contract signing.Must be available for orientation, typically lasting between 1-3 shifts, based on experience.ResponsibilitiesProvide patient care in a high-acuity environment, managing a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:3-4 based on acuity.Care for a variety of ER patients, including pediatrics, cardiac cases, STEMIs, strokes, and general emergencies.Perform routine tasks such as drawing labs (conducted by phlebotomy), interpreting EKGs, and administering common IV drips.Assist in the triage process and management of patients in the ER.Participate in unit activities and assist in training new staff as needed.Environmental and Organizational FactorsFacility operates a Level III trauma center with STEMI and stroke receiving capabilities.On average, treat approximately 70 patients per day in the ER.Security is in-house 24/7 and rounds the ER area.Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team, including MDs in-house continuously and mid-level providers during peak times.This is an excellent opportunity for seasoned nurses looking to expand their skill set in a dynamic emergency nursing environment.
