Network and Infrastructure Engineer V

Overview X-energy LLC is seeking a DevSecOps-focused professional to lead network and on-premises virtual infrastructure development, security, and operations. The role involves creating, deploying, integrating, and maintaining hybrid/edge multi-tenant infrastructure designs for secured, scalable, and resilient application environments. The position includes designing internal communication systems for X-energy's SMRs via servers, computer networks, phones, and wireless radio systems. This is a process-driven role that involves drawing diagrams, managing paperwork, and delivering plans to the network operations team; experience as a project manager or network engineering lead is preferred. Responsibilities Integrate network/computer/storage management systems for Cloud Service Providers and on-premises IaaS solutions into full-lifecycle operational service delivery and project management platforms. Design and deploy hardened and compliant office and enterprise network infrastructure supporting multi-tenant, virtualized and/or HPC production environments, within on-premises IaaS, cloud, or hybrid environments for performance and secure processing requirements. Develop and maintain security, availability, performance, scalability, continuous improvement, and monitoring for highly available and redundant network and virtual infrastructure. Oversee full life-cycle development, testing, and production management for business-critical applications and end-user productivity software tailored to manufacturing, engineering, modeling, and data analytics needs. Research vendor network and virtualization deployment guides to develop secure, resilient, and scalable infrastructure enabling enterprise applications and platform integration into core service management systems. Redesign network and virtualization infrastructure to meet improved security, scalability, and resiliency requirements for various production, test, and development environments. Take ownership of project requirements development, deployment, and operational release management. Maintain professional demeanor and communication; perform other duties as assigned by manager. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in computer science or computer information management, or High School Diploma with a minimum of four years work experience. Experience as a project manager or network engineering lead; demonstrated enterprise network and virtual infrastructure experience across multi-site, hybrid on-premises and Cloud Service Provider environments. Strong experience with building configurations, deployment, troubleshooting, and secure management of routers, firewalls, switches, VPNs, WAPs, site-to-site IPsec tunnels, and cloud-network security and IP address management; familiarity with SD-WAN from CSP offerings. Experience with on-premises virtual hypervisors and platform infrastructure for scalable, highly available, recoverable environments. Experience integrating network and virtual infrastructure systems into automated service delivery management systems. Familiarity with development and ongoing compliance management of network systems aligned to NIST 800-171/800-53 or CIS benchmarks. Knowledge of cloud service provider next-generation network infrastructure/Platform/Software as a Service capabilities; enterprise scaling technologies and solutions. Ability to mentor junior team members. Location & Work Details Location: Frederick, MD Work Site Expectations: Remote Eligible Travel: 5% as needed for project assignment Hours: 8:00am–5:00pm ET, Monday–Friday Compensation & Benefits The salary range for this position is $145,000 to $204,000 and is determined based on education, experience, and qualifications. Compensation ranges may vary by location.
