CBRN Operational SME

*This is a contingent opportunity K2 Group is seeking a CBRN Operational SME to provide support to the Headquarters Air Force. This role provides specialized technical, analytical, and programmatic support for the Nuclear Command, Control and Communication (NC3) Division. Work will be performed onsite in the Arlington, VA area (Pentagon).Job Responsibilities:Plan, assess, and deliver CBRN operational support strategies that enhance mission success while mitigating risks in CBRN environments.Provide operational planning, capability integration, and mission readiness solutions for Combatant Command missions.Oversee field CBRN activities and contribute to readiness assessments that directly support Air Force strategy development for CBRND objectivesQualificationsRequired Qualifications:U.S. citizenship and an active Top Secret Clearance with SCI eligibility.Experience delivering strategic-level operational support for field CBRN operations, including planning and execution of readiness programsKnowledge of CBRND tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) aligned with Air Force mission prioritiesAbility to coordinate with mission and delivery teams to assess risks, design readiness strategies, and execute operational frameworks supporting Air Force CWMD objectivesDesired Qualifications:Experience conducting joint and coalition CBRN defense operations supporting Combatant Commands or similar high-level military mission requirementsKnowledge of CBRND doctrine, framework development aligned with treaty compliance, and multi-domain readiness planning within mission areasAbility to lead training events, live simulations, and workshops to improve resilience and mission preparation in contested chemical and biological environmentsBachelor’s degree in CBRND, Environmental Sciences, or Military StudiesClearance:Top Secret Clearance w/SCI is requiredCompensation: The projected compensation range for this position is $101,100-$201,100. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary rate, including but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certification as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories.
